CITATIONSHARES SELECTS HIGHTOP FOR SAFETY COURSE
8/7/2009
GREENWICH, CT., August 7, 2009 – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently placed a high priority on addressing pilot fatigue and other aviation safety issues, and CitationShares is demonstrating its commitment to exceed FAA safety standards by coordinating a Fatigue Management Awareness class for the company’s pilots, schedulers, dispatch staff and command staff. Recently, CitationShares selected HighTop Company to administer the course, which is designed to teach staff how to recognize, address and avoid fatigue in the safest and healthiest way possible.
The company implemented the course to increase the level of safety for its customers. “When it comes to safety,” said CitationShares CEO Steve O’Neill, “we are always looking for ways to improve our practices and procedures so we can provide a safer flight environment for our customers.”
In addition to the training, a new schedule-fatigue alert tool is also being developed by CitationShares. This tool will provide flight schedulers with additional real-time information which will allow pilots to avoid possible fatigue-inducing routes.
“We are constantly looking at ways to improve our safety education curriculum, and both the new alert tool and HighTop’s pilot fatigue course will greatly assist CitationShares in addressing the issue of fatigue,” said Tim Frazier, VP of Training & Standards at CitationShares.
